Golden Rule One – Don’t Ever Sacrifice Accuracy For Distance.

If you’ve ever been down to the driving range, you will see many golfers trying to hit the ball so hard and far that they end up making errors and common mistakes. Often trying to hit the ball hard will result in it not going far at all!

There is no point being able to launch a ball down the fairway if it ends up in a water hazard. Focus on accuracy first and distance afterwards. You need to strike a balance between these two elements, otherwise you will lose out on both.

Golden Rule Two – You Must Use Your Body Correctly If You Want To Gain Distance.

How you use your body can either make or break your golf game. If you are only focused on one part of your body and forget about the other parts, good luck trying to gain distance off the tee, because it’s just not going to happen!

Never forget where that the primary source of power comes from the hips. So make sure you’re aware of your whole body as you play a shot if a certain movement will help your hips generate power or hinder it from being able to do this.

If you’re a right hander, angle your left foot towards the outside to get your hips more involved. Not too much though, all that is needed is a small adjustment of a few degrees. This will open the hips and help cause greater amounts of momentum. If you do this, you will see a big increase in distance.

Another great golf distance tips is to slightly flex your knees at address. This will result in a smooth transition of weight from the right to the left and cause a build up of energy and power.

Golden Rule Three – Snap Your Right Hand As You Make Contact.

The hands usually take a backseat to the hips when it comes to generating the most amount of power in the quickest period of time. But the hands can be brought into play to improve on the power that has already been generated by the hips.

As the clubhead impacts on the ball, snap your right hand forward quickly. This small but powerful movement can be responsible for adding an additional 10 – 20 yards onto your stroke. This trick is nothing to sneeze at!

Golden Rule Four – Don’t Try to Muscle The Ball.

Too many golfers try to rely on their muscular strength instead of using their body to unleash its full power potential. If you try to muscle your way through the ball with your club, likely you will be tense on impact and both your accuracy and distance will suffer a blow.

Don’t use your arms as the primary source of power, otherwise you will fail time and time again. Remember this rule! If you like slicing, hooking, and hitting the ball an embarrassingly small distance, then keep doing this. But I’m guessing you don’t, so avoid ripping the ball at all costs.

Golden Rule Five – Practice Like A Champ.

It is rare to find any professional who has developed accuracy and distance by only talent alone. If you want to be a champ you’re going to need to practice like a champ! Professional players are practicing the majority of the time. Don’t ever think that once they reach a high level, they don’t need to maintain it through regular practice. This is a myth and one that can be very damaging.

As you embrace and put into practice these five golden rules that I revealed in this golf distance tips article, you will find how easy it is to hit with both accuracy and distance.
